Roughly $15 will upgrade your Coach trip to Pacific Business Class. Why is this good? Business Class includes more spacious seats combined with tables reminiscent of the Acela Business Class on the East Coast, and each seat includes a power outlet. Additionally, self-serve snacks and cofee come on each level. For those who decide to stay in Coach, the train’s Café Car sells tasty nibbles
and drinks.
Extra cars are occasionally added to each Surfliner train, especially on holidays and heavy ridership days. Please note that if you schedule a trip by standard Coach during peak periods, such seating is unreserved. his means that you are not guaranteed a place on the train, yet Business Class travel does guarantee you a seat.
Overhead Storage Compartments Carry-on baggage is limited to 28” x 22” x 11” on Paciic Surliner trains.
Stairs
hose capable of climbing stairs will be required to sit on the upper level.
Accessible Restroom located on the lower level for mobility- impaired passengers.
Lower Level Seats
Coach seats on
the lower level
of Surliner and
Superliner trains
are set aside for
senior citizens
or handicapped passengers. In order to sit on the lower level, you must irst request a seat there. Lower level aisles are broader and the space between seats is greater. In addition, Amtrak provides spaces for passengers restricted to a wheelchair. With toilets on the lower level, those sitting on that level do not have to climb stairs to get to those facilities.
he train’s lower level is more dim and quieter for nighttime traveling.
Large Panoramic Windows
The Pacific Surfliner is famous for its spectacular ocean views with panoramas of immaculate beaches and breathtaking cliff-side, Pacific Ocean seascapes. On the route south (between San Luis Obispo and San Diego), for the best views sit
on the right side; going north, sit on
the left.
