By night, the sofa folds down into a bed and the two armchairs collapse to make way for lower and upper beds (accessed by a ladder). he door locks from the inside only with no individual keys. Access to shower room is nearby in the same car (except in the Park car).
Triple bedrooms are rare and accordingly diicult to acquire and cost more. hroughout peak season, there could be four triples (one in each Château car); during the remainder of the year, there may be only one, situated in the Park car.
Upper or Lower Berth
hese are semi-private areas accessible by one person as individual sections, or by two people as a unit comprised of one lower berth and one upper berth. Not only are these means of accommodation the most economical, these berths have the widest beds on the train and, unless you are well over 1.8 metres (6 ft) tall, you should have no problem itting. he combination of three lower and three upper berths in each car can lodge a maximum of six passengers.
During waking hours, a pair of wide, couch-style seats face each other. Traditionally, the passenger sitting in the rear-facing seat takes the upper berth while the traveller sitting in the forward-facing seat takes the lower berth. By night, the seats are converted into comfortable beds, each equipped with a reinforced privacy curtain. Budget- conscious travellers can save a few dollars by reserving the upper berth.
